What: A Zumbathon will be held on Saturday, August 15 to benefit the American Heart Association’s 2015 Heart Walk. The Zumbathon will include two hours of dancing led by certified Zumba instructors.
When/Where: The Zumbathon will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 15 on the parking lot of the former Hawk Lake Golf Course (future home of Memorial Hospital) at 1605 Loucks Road in West Manchester Township.
Why: According to the American Heart Association, every year about 735,000 Americans have a heart attack. Of these, 525,000 are a first heart attack and 210,000 happen in people who have already had a heart attack. Physical activity, such as Zumba, can increase overall cardiovascular health and lower the risk of heart attack.
Cost: Tickets for the Zumbathon are on sale for $10 in advance and can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com. Tickets are available the day of the Zumbathon for $15.
